DSL works over existing phone lines but without limiting your ability to both make and receive phone calls. In other words, DSL lets you surf the Internet and talk on the phone at the same time!
Frontier DSL helps connect you to what matters most by putting the power of Frontier to work for you. With Frontier DSL service you get a network-ready connection that fits your needs.
What is DSL Internet Speed?
DSL Internet speed is measured in megabits per second, or Mbps, and generally refers to how fast data travels from a web server to an Internet-connected device like a laptop or tablet. Each Internet connection has an upload speed and a download speed. Upload speed is how fast your device sends data over the Internet, while download speed is how fast your device receives data from the Internet.
With DSL Internet speed, you can surf the web, engage in social media, and stream a variety of content. DLS Internet also has enough speed for some online gaming.
Frontier DSL Modem:
A Modem and Router in One
To connect to the Internet using DSL Internet service, you need a modem, which connects your computer or router to the home phone line, which connects to the Internet.
It used to be that you needed both a modem and a router if you wanted to connect more than one device to the Internet, and that often required a series of ethernet cables. With the advancement of technology, better processing chips, and smaller devices, most modems today, like a Frontier DSL modem, contain both a Wi-Fi router and a modem.
Generally, the router built into a Frontier DSL modem is sufficient for most DSL Internet needs, but you can also purchase your own router and connect it to a Frontier DSL modem.
